Nishan Madushka Powers CCC Into T20 Final

An enterprising knock of 47 runs in just 20 balls, featuring 4 boundaries and 3 sixes by Nishan Madushka, paved the way for CCC to score a thrilling eight-wicket win with eight balls to spare in their rain-hampered Major Club T20 semi-final, played under floodlights at the CCC ground yesterday.

The match was delayed due to heavy rain and later reduced to eight overs per side. Moors SC, after being invited to bat first, finished their innings on 86/5, with Ramesh Mendis top scoring with 28.

In their chase, CCC were well-guided by Madushka, who anchored two key partnerships — first adding 29 runs for the opening wicket alongside Lasith Croospulle, and then putting on 56 runs in just 23 balls with Chathuranga de Silva, who remained unbeaten on 30 from 12 balls, including a boundary and 3 sixes. This strong platform saw CCC reach their target in the seventh over.

CCC will now face Panadura SC in the final, scheduled for tomorrow under floodlights at the same venue from 7.30 p.m. onwards.
