Nondescripts Cricket Club (NCC) and Colombo Cricket Club (CCC) have booked their places in the Semi-Finals of the SLC Major Clubs T20 Tournament 2025, after commanding wins in their respective quarter-final matches.
NCC Outclass Tamil Union C & AC via DLS Method
In the first quarter-final held at CCC Grounds, NCC defeated Tamil Union Cricket & Athletic Club by 8 wickets under the DLS method. Tamil Union posted a competitive 167/6 in 20 overs, led by an explosive 62 off 30 balls by Bhanuka Rajapaksa, featuring 5 fours and 5 sixes at a strike rate of 206.66.
Rain interruptions shortened NCC’s chase to just 5 overs, with a revised target of 55 runs. The in-form Jeewaka Sashin smashed a quick 24 off 12 balls, guiding NCC to victory in just 4 overs with 8 wickets in hand.
CCC Triumphs Over BRC in Rain-Affected Thriller
At the P. Sara Oval Grounds, Colombo Cricket Club held their nerve in a rain-hit clash against Burgher Recreation Club (BRC). Batting first, CCC piled on 179/6 in 20 overs, thanks to a stellar knock from Nishan Madushka, who scored 79 off 50 balls (3 fours, 5 sixes) at a strike rate of 158.00. Lasith Croospulle contributed a valuable 35.
Chasing a revised target of 57 runs in 5 overs, BRC could only muster 39/5, with Isuru Udana (3/15) and Nuwan Thushara (2/13) leading the charge for CCC. The result handed CCC a 17-run victory (DLS Method).
