More Ranking shuttlers are expected to take part at the Puttalam District All-Island Open Badminton Championships 2025, which is scheduled to be held from May 26 to June 1 at the Sir Albert F. Peiris Indoor Sports Complex in Wennappuwa .Last time in 2024 Shenuk Samararatne and Rashmi Bhagya emerged men’s and women’s open singles titles in this Puttalam tournament. The tournament is organised by the Puttalam District Badminton Association (PBDA), the seven-day championship is expected attract of over 5000 shuttlers, who will compete under different categories and entries are accepted for this tournament which give good match exposure for the local shuttlers.

The championships will feature a wide range of events from Under-11 to Under-19 in the Junior category and Over-30 to Over-70 in the Senior category. The Open events comprising Men’s and Women’s Singles, Doubles and Mixed Doubles, will take centre stage at this grand annual event.
