Sri Lanka face India in U-19SAFF Cup opener

Sri Lanka will take on the hosts India in their opening match of the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) Cup Under-19 Football Tournament 2025 on May 9. The Sri Lankan Team left for India yesterday.

The tournament, which will feature six countries from the region, will be held from May 9 to 18 at the Golden Jubilee Outdoor Stadium in Yupia, India.

India, Sri Lanka and Nepal are in Group ‘B’ while Bhutan Bangladesh and the Maldives are in Group ‘A’.

Sri Lanka will play Nepal in their second match of the tournament on May 11.

Omit Edirisinghe has been named as the Captain of the Sri Lanka Team.
