Dinara de Silva, the champion of the first tournament, was the only Sri Lankan player to make it to the quarter-finals of the ITF Junior Circuit J30 Week 2 Tennis Tournament, which continued at the SSC Courts in Colombo yesterday.
Dinara recorded a comfortable win over Akansha Ghosh of India. Sri Lanka’s other contenders Yuhansa Peiris and Gehansa Methnadi, along with Mayooran Khubherane, Ashlin de Silva and Ganuka Fernando suffered defeats and bowed out of contention.
The quarter-finals will be played today.

Chuan Ding (China) beat Ashlin de Silva (Sri Lanka) 6-3, 4-6, 6-5. Rafa Jaconia (Indonesia) beat Ganuka Fernando (Sri Lanka) 6-4, 6-2.
