Faldo Series Asia Finals Solid start by Reshan

The opening round of the Faldo Series Asia Finals saw an impressive display from Sri Lankan golfer Reshan Algama, who fired a one-under-par score of 70.

Algama’s solid start places him in a commendable fourth position within the competitive under 16 age segment.

At the helm is Vietnamese sensation Tuan Anh Nguyen, whose remarkable six-under-par round of 65 has set a high bar for the remaining competitors.

Following Nguyen is a pair of strong contenders: Anne Hay and Daichi Havashi, hailing from Vietnam and Japan respectively, who carded rounds of two-under-par 69.

With a field that includes top juniors from countries such as Australia, Wales, and England, as well as numerous Asian powerhouses like Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, India, Pakistan, Hong Kong, and Thailand, the level of competition is fierce and the stakes are high.

In the girls’ under-16 category, Kaya Daluwatta also had a poor start, finishing her round with a score of six over par 77, which currently places her in 10th.

Leading the girls’ segment is Thailand’s Pimpakorn, who managed to stay steady with an even-par score of 71.

The Nick Faldo signature course at Dang Hang has been meticulously designed to challenge even the most skilled players, featuring a variety of natural landscapes, strategically placed hazards, and undulating greens. These elements ensure that every stroke counts, pushing athletes to demonstrate not only their technical skills but also their mental fortitude.
