After winning the toss, Ireland ‘A’ decided to bat first but managed to post only 192 runs in 46 overs as Sri Lankan bowling unit displayed a collective disciplined bowling effort.
The speedster Dilshan Madushanka who picked up a four-fer in his last outing against Afghanistan ‘A’, once again stood out with the ball, claiming 4 wickets for 44 runs.
The two spinners – Dushan Hemantha (3/24) and Tharindu Rathnayake (2/26) shared 5 wickets between them.
Sri Lanka ‘A’ cruised to the target with ease as they crossed over the line in just 27.1 overs. The opening pair Lasith Croospulle and Lahiru Udara got them off to a flying start as the duo added 107 runs in just 73 balls.
Croospulle notched up 53 runs off 33 balls with 6 fours and 2 sixes while Udara contributed with 47 runs off 44 balls with 6 fours. The skipper Sadeera Samarawickrama continued his good form with the bat, scoring another fine half-century.
