Sri Lanka Shines at Asian Youth Athletics Championship – Finishes 4th in Medal Rankings

Sri Lanka delivered an inspiring performance at the 2025 Asian Youth Athletics Championship, securing 4th place overall among 19 competing nations, and finishing ahead of regional sporting powerhouses like Japan, Saudi Arabia, and South Korea.

Our young athletes clinched a total of eight medals, showcasing the nation’s rising talent and commitment to nurturing future track and field stars. This marks one of Sri Lanka’s best-ever performances at the youth level in continental athletics.

The final top five rankings saw China dominate with a staggering 36 medals, followed by Uzbekistan and India with 11 medals each. Sri Lanka, with its impressive haul of 8 medals, stood proudly in 4th place, just ahead of Japan who secured 7 medals.
