Sri Lanka Defeat Brunei 1-0 in FIFA International Friendly

Bangkok, June 5, 2025 – The Sri Lanka National Football Team claimed a 1-0 win over Brunei in a FIFA International Friendly played in Bangkok, Thailand.

After a goalless first half, Leon Perera broke the deadlock with a goal in the 57th minute, securing a hard-fought victory for the Sri Lankans.

Currently ranked 200th in the FIFA World Rankings, Sri Lanka managed to overcome Brunei, who are placed 185th, 15 spots higher.

This marks Sri Lanka’s first win against Brunei since 2009, when they recorded a convincing 5-1 victory.

The win is a boost for Sri Lanka as they continue preparations for upcoming international fixtures.
