The 26th Asian Athletics Championships concluded on May 31st after a week of fierce competition among Asia’s top athletes. Sri Lanka finished the tournament with three bronze medals, placing 18th overall on the medals table.

The final day saw no additional medals for Sri Lanka, with the country’s athletes unable to advance their medal count. Particular attention was on the men’s javelin throw, where hopes were high given Sri Lanka’s recent strong performances, but no podium finish was secured.
