Sri Lanka Women’s Tri-Nation ODI Harshitha, Kavisha lift Sri Lanka to first win

Half tons by Harshitha Samarawickrama and Kavisha Dilhari helped Sri Lanka to record a five-wicket win over South Africa in the Sri Lanka Women’s Tri-Nation ODI series tournament played at R. Premadasa Stadium yesterday.   

Harshitha cracked 77 inclusive of eight boundaries while Kavisha hit 62 with six boundaries and a six. The pair featured in a partnership of 128 for the fourth wicket after opener Hasini Perera and Vishmi Gunaratne shared a 70-run stand for the second wicket.   

Sri Lanka chasing 236 for victory reached the target in the 47th over.   

Earlier South Africa invited to take first lease of the wicket made a modest 235 for nine with Annerie Dercksen making an unbeaten 61. Sri Lanka will play their next match on May 4 against India who are unbeaten with two wins.
