The SAFF Executive Committee and the hosts, the Football Federation of Sri Lanka (FFSL) have decided to postpone the 15th Edition of the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) Cup Tournament to 2026 with immediate effect.
Arrangements had been made to conduct the tournament from June 20 to July 5 at the Racecourse Grounds in Colombo.
Sri Lanka has already confirmed their participation along with India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan, Bhutan and the Maldives.
This is the third time that Sri Lanka has won the SAFF Cup Tournament hosting rights. Previously, the tournament was held in 1995 and 2006 jointly with the Maldives.
The SAFF Executive Committee has awarded the sponsorship of the tournament to a well-known Asian organisation and the expected cost is over Rs. 300m.
Meanwhile, steps were taken to postpone the 15th SAFF Cup Tournament draw launch scheduled for April 4 at the Shangri-La Hotel in Colombo.
